Miguel "Mike" Bustamante lost his wife of 41 years last September, and visits her every day at the San Fernando No. 2 Cemetery as he did on Friday, June 12, 2009, despite the heat and humidity. "I'll be here pleasing her every day like I promised for as long as I can," he explained. "She loved the flag and so do I. To us it was freedom."
     
  
Debbie McVey recently purchased her grandparents' farm in Harrisburg, IL. She often picks wildflowers on the property with her second cousin, Leanna Harris, 87, who still lives just down the road.
  
At Clyde Butcher's Annual Swamp Walk at Big Cypress Gallery, Elijah Ruby, 6, his mom, Stacy Wolf (left), Donn Golden (back), 83, and Jocelyn Alton (right), environmental educator for Big Cypress National Preserve, take in the canopy view at the beginning of the 1:30pm walk. The Labor Day Swamp Walk was started in 1994 with 12 people and has grown so popular that the Butchers expect around 1200 participants between Saturday and Monday.
